O Svend Hangaard είναι δανός κατασκευαστής. Υπήρξε φύλακας σε φυλακή και γιά πολλά χρόνια είχε σαν χόμπυ να σκαλίζει ξύλα. Αφού συνταξιοδοτήθηκε έμαθε την τέχνη της κατασκευής πίπας από τον Πορτογάλο κατασκευαστή Joao Reis.
