ΚΑλά έκανες και τα έβαλες ήταν ιστορική εταιρία της Γαλλικής σχολής. Απλά έτυχε και είχα αυτήν την πίπα τους σε ένα σορό φωτογραφίες, η οποία είναι εντελώς απαράδεκτη (το επιστόμιο είναι έτσι, δεν είναι σφάλμα προοπτικής) και είπα να την βάλλω και γω. Δεν κατάλαβα εκείνη την στιγμή πως συνέχιζες να προσθέτεις, και χάλασα την σειρά, συγνώμη

Βλέποντας την αφίσα με τις πίπες La Grognarde καί κάνοντας συσχετισμό με μία πίπα πού είχε κάποιο μέλος τού forum :
Αυτό το εξάρτημα (πού είναι σαν πίρος) πού έχουν στον πάτο τού μπολ πρέπει να υπάρχει εκεί,γιά αποστράγγιση των διαφόρων υγρών πού μαζεύονται.

Ropp pipes

Eugène-Léon Ropp (1830 - 1907) had acquired a patent for a cherrywood pipe (wild cherry, lat.: Prunus avium) in 1869. In 1870 he established a workshop to manufacture such pipes in Büssingen (Bussang, Vosges mountains). Around 1893 the business moved into the former mill of Sicard (part of the community of Baume-les-Dames - Département Doubs, Upper Burgundy - from 1895 on).

The pipes were a big success in the export as well. Shortly before 1914 Ropp designated A. Frankau & Co. (BBB) in London to be the exclusive distributor in the UK and it's colonies.

Probably in 1917 a workshop in Saint-Claude in the Rue du Plan du Moulin 8 was acquired to start the fabrication of briar pipes. In 1923 a small building in the environment of Saint-Claude, serving as a workshop for polishing, was added.

Even though cherrywood pipes were the mainstay of Ropp until the company finally closed down in September 1991.

Brand created by Eugène-Léon Ropp (1830 - 1907). The company was taken over by Cuty-Fort Entreprises (Chacom, Jeantet, Vuillard, Jean Lacroix...) in 1994.

Ropp Pipes : Logos & Markings

Cherrywood Pipes - ROPP etc...

Ropp pipes are made in France from Cherrywood - bark and all. It's one of the earliest pipes to be made from wood - long before briar. They are made the exact way they were in the early 1800's. Ropp is one of the oldest European pipe makers still around. The Poker shape, and more obviously, the Cherrywood Poker shape is inpsired by these early wooden pipes.

Do not smoke it harshly - treat it like a corncob even though it is more durable. Many Cherrywoods burn out, but if treated well, they will last for years. Cherrywood adds a rich flavor like no other wood; these pipes are vastly underrated and are superlative smokers - get some on ebay for cheap...but not from me because I don't have any in stock

Μια πολύ ωραία σελίδα του γαλλικού υπουργείου πολιτισμού για το εργοστάσιο της Ropp. Αν πατήσετε την επιλογή toutes les images (αριστερά) θα σας βγάλει πολλές φωτογραφίες του εργοστασίου και των μηχανημάτων που χρησιμοποιούταν.
