Well. brethren in smoke, I'm about to fly to that cornucopia of pipes and tobacco - the USA!
For the novelty you may wish to try out nasal snuff while you're there. Many tobacconists stock Gawith Apricot or Poschl Glescher Prise, both minty and fairly easy to take. One got me through the flight back, they're in a handy dispensor - pack a hankie. There are much better snuffs on the market, the american ones tend to be dry and difficult for the beginner but some toques are nice. Personally I prefer the 1800s style european ones.
The tobacco experience in the US though is awe inspiring for an Australian. Walking into the massive humidor at Holts in Philadelphia was wonderful - you get a nic rush just from the aroma.
